Minutes of the Annual General Meeting held at the Village Hall on 18 April 2007

The meeting opened at 7.32 pm.
ITEM 1 APOLOGIES:
There were apologies from Mr R Bridges, Mrs F Twilley, Miss A Hobbs, Mr P Hunt & Mr P Williams
ITEM 2 PREVIOUS MINUTES:
The minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting held on 4 April 2007 were approved, proposed by Mrs Harrison, seconded by Mr Spriggs, and signed by the Acting Chairman as a true and correct record.
ITEM 3 CHAIRMAN’S REPORT: -
As the chairman was absent there was no Chairman's Report.
Mrs Harrison, as Acting Chairman, commented that in the past year
Mr Leeson's bequest has enabled us to put the hall in order in a way that should benefit the trustees for years to come. It has been a help to be able to do this without constant fund-raising. Before we received this money the Open Gardens took place on 18 June 2006 and proved very popular with our many visitors.
The new cooker, toilet improvements and new windows have been completed and redecoration is due to start on 16 May 2007.
ITEM 4 TREASURER’S REPORT: -
The treasurer gave everyone present a copy of the audited accounts and read the following report:
A reading of the audited accounts should be self-explanatory. Mrs Harrison reported that since the limiter was fixed in the Gents' toilet the annual water bill has been reduced by about £400. The committee repeats itsgrateful thanks to Mr N Cox for supplying and fitting this for us.
Mr J Spriggs proposed that the audited accounts be accepted and Mrs D Collins seconded. It was passed unanimously.
ITEM 5 ELECTION OF COMMITTEE: -
- Election of Treasurer
Mr s P Harrison was proposed by Mrs D Collins and seconded by Mrs A Roberts. She was elected unanimously.
ITEM 5 b) Appointment of Auditor
(cont.) The appointment of Mrs J Barber was proposed by Mrs P Harrison and seconded by Mr J Spriggs. It was agreed unanimously.
- Election of Committee Members.
Mrs D Collins proposed that Mr Bridges be asked to leave the committee, Mr J Spriggs seconded this and this was agreed unanimously.
Mrs D Collins, Mrs F Twilley, Mr J Spriggs and Miss A Hobbs were re-elected en bloc. Proposed by Mrs A Roberts and seconded by Mr N Thomas. They were re-elected unanimously.
The representatives of the various other societies in the village are: -
The Parish Meeting, Mr P Williams; Social Club, Mr N Thomas; Ladies’ Club, Mrs M Exton and the Church, Mr P Hunt.
The meeting closed at 7.50 pm.
